Our focus on young and upcoming artistes in the area of Music, Theatre and Dance continues.

We welcome to our Entertainment Feature column Ramir "Yung Prez" Griffith.

"Yung Prez" says he always had a love for music.

He grew up in a household where the radio was on more than the television. His early inspiration was his father who was a big reggae fan. So it was not rare to hear songs from Bob Marley , Peter Tosh and Gregory Isaacs.

He tells Whatsupcaribbean that is where his first impression of music came from and from there it just grew.

"I remember days dubbing off music on cassette tapes from the radio trying to get as much songs as possible without any talking on it which then transformed into me writing my own lyrics which at the time were nothing but for jokes to kill time with my friends at school(the lodge school)."

Over the years he believes that he has grown, "from those earlier years of nursery rhymes to talking about serious issues that affect us as a society."

He is presently working with his engineer switch (highrise studios) and his producer is Finland's own Quincy Valentine along with my sponsors : ja apparel, eva fresh clothing ,imperial ites photography and twitched on electronics - all part of what he calls the real movement.

He released his first single "stay strong" feat Fantom Dundeal and Vanessa Lee last month and his music video "words I never said" . He also just releasing his second single 'running to your love'.

For "Yung Prez" Music Is his passion , a part of him. "In fact I can't imagine myself doing anything else but being an entertainer and making music," he said.

Keep it flowing and keep that positive drive Whatsupcaribbean supporting you all the way!
